Running a business without belief is like trying to drive a car without fuel.
Belief is how we stay in the arena.
It’s how we root into the courage we need to show, take up space, face the unknowns, and take brave and intentional action in our work.
It’s how we handle setbacks and how we root into the patience that pursuing our goals and desires asks of us too.
Belief is everything, and yet our brains are so wired to get stuck in doubt and disheartenment along the way.
Without belief I play small and I start to believe that horrible voice inside my head that tells me that I’m not good enough and that my failure is inevitable.
Even after a decade of gently thriving and reaching my goals in my business, belief continues to be an essential daily choice for me in my work and here are the five beliefs I’m anchoring to in this season:
1: The best is still yet to come
After a decade now of running my own business I’ve started to wonder at times: what if my best years are behind me?
Believing that the best is still yet to come feels like a deeply essential belief to anchor to in this season of my work. My best work, my best ideas, my most meaningful impact and growth - I have to believe that these are all still ahead to come if I’m going to continue to root into the energy and courage that entrepreneurship asks of me.
2: I’m safe to go slowly
It’s okay if I have more ideas right now than I have time and energy to bring them all to life.
It’s okay if I have to eat the elephant one tiny bite at a time, make progress in small steps instead of large leaps, and if I measure growth towards my big goals over years instead of weeks and months.
3: There are always more people who my work will feel like a hell yes for
Just because we can’t always see them doesn’t mean that there aren’t people right now, in this very moment, deeply connecting with our work and keeping our offers in mind for when the time is right for them. There will always be more awesome humans that are work will be a hell yes for - it’s just our job to gently stay in the arena and make it easeful for them to discover and dive deeper into what we do.
4: It’s okay to own my magic
It’s okay to bear witness to my decade of experience of supporting hundreds of awesome humans to gently thrive in their business and work towards their entrepreneurial goals in a way that honours their humanness every step of the way. I don’t have to play down my magic and my experience just because it sometimes feels a little uncomfortable to do so. And the truth is, the more I lean into my magic the more easefully it continues to flow through me too.
5: It’s not my job to be everything to everyone
It’s okay that my work isn’t for everyone, that sometimes people unsubscribe to my newsletter or no longer feel connected to my work. It’s not our job to be everything to everyone - it’s our job to lean deeply into our magic and our best work and be all in for the people our work is a hell yes for. I am safe to be 100% me as it’s the only way I can do my best work and feel at home in this journey along the way too.
Which of these beliefs will support you to root into courage in this season of your business?

All of these are things I need to tell myself from time to time. Right now, going slowly is a big one for me. I have a lot history of "it's all or nothing," but I realize I can make just as much progress, often more, if I embrace intermittent consistency!
I'd say all of them
