This may be one of my favourite reading months that I’ve ever had.
I’ve fallen in love with 3 new series (one I loved so much I re-read it twice) and the thing I’ve looked forward to most every day this month is curling up with my book.
Fourth Wing, Iron Flame, & Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros
I honestly feel like there was my life before the Empyrean series and my life after. I know, I know, I sound ridiculous but that’s how much I LOVED this series. I loved it so much I read all 3 books again a second time and then a third. All in one month. And I now feel LOST until the 4th book comes out.
Daydream by Hannah Grace
I’ve really enjoyed the Maple Hills series and the third and (I think?) final book didn’t disappoint. I recommend reading these in order to follow along with the found family.
Next To You and Out Of The Woods by Hannah Bonam-Young
Hannah Bonam-Young is an auto-buy author for me, I love her sweet, diverse, and swoon worthy stories that also encompass the messy realities of being human too. I preferred Next To You a little more than Out Of The Woods and would definitely recommend starting with Out On A Limb if you’re new to her work.
Heavenly Bodies by Imani Erriu
I wanted to love this book - I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it either. It may be because it was 3rd person POV which isn’t always my favourite but this ended up just being a solid 3 stars for me. I really enjoyed the world building and the romance was solid but I just wasn’t hooked the way I was with other romantasy books this month. But I do think I’ll pick up the second book in the series when it comes out later this year - which means I did enjoy it enough to keep going with the series!
In The Likely Event by Rebecca Yarros
After feeling lost after Onyx Storm I decided to go read Rebecca Yarros’ contemporary romances and started with this one and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a military romance so I think it depends on whether or not you enjoy that setting if you’d enjoy this one or not.
Mile High, The Right Move, Caught Up, & Play Along by Liz Tomforde
I didn’t expect to love this sports romance series as much as I did this month. It reminded me of how I felt when I read the Chestnut Springs series by Elsie Silver - if you love a good dual POV romance and a found family element between all of the books then I think you may love these too.
ACOTAR, ACOMAF, ACOWAR, & ACOFAS by Sarah J. Maas
I wrapped up February by reading my way through the ACOTAR series. I will say I didn’t LOVE the first book, but I enjoyed it enough to keep going and it was definitely worth it. Especially the battle scene at the end of ACOWAR - I stayed up far too late that night finishing that book. I’m currently reading ACOSF and then I can’t decide whether to start Throne Of Glass or the Crescent City series next?
What was your favourite book that you read in February?
Until next time,
Jen
JEN!!! I'm so excited that you're into romantasy! I'm devouring the From Blood and Ash Series from Jennifer L. Armentrout (and dare I say I actually like it even more than Fourth Wing! Shhhh don't tell Rebecca Yarros). Excited to hear what you keep reading and very inspired by your haul of books!
OMG welcome to the Empyrean universe! Also ACOTAR! Def read Throne of Glass next, I liked it the most!
