I’m going to order this list starting with my favourite books from the past two months…
Say You’ll Remember Me by Abby Jimenez
I’ve never read an Abby Jimenez book I didn’t love and I devoured this one in less than 24 hours. It made me cry and feel all the feelings. Samantha and Xavier have the perfect first date but then long distance forces them to figure out how they’re going to make it work when they live thousands of miles from each other.
A Court Of Silver Flames by Sarah J Maas
I loved this book - it’s my second favourite in the series after ACOMAF. I know Nesta isn’t everyone’s favourite character but I really loved her story.
This was a re-read for me and I listened to it on audiobook. I don’t usually love listening to fiction but I’ve been finding it fun to re-read some favourite books lately by listening to them instead and I think I may have enjoyed this one even more second time around. Harriet and Wyn have to pretend they’re still together on a trip away with their friends.
I did the same again with Funny Story and may have loved this even more second time around too. Daphne and Miles’s partners left them for each other so now they’re living together and pretending to be together too.
Summer In The City by Alex Aster
I love a rom-com set in NYC and this did not disappoint. Another one I devoured in less than 24 hours.
This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune
I really love the way Carley Fortune writes romance and her settings really make her books feel so special too - this one is set on Prince Edward Island in Canada and follows Lucy and her secret years long relationship with her best friends brother.
First Time Caller by B. K. Borison
Oh how I adored this book. Lucie’s young daughter calls a radio romance hotline to try and help her mum find love and then of course she ends up finding it with the host.
I’ve loved the Rebel Blue Ranch series and Lyla Sage ended it so well with this book. If you love small town cowboy romances I really recommend this series.
I read a lot of books set in the US so it’s always a delight to read a UK based one instead. I really loved that the love story of this book was the main characters relationship with themselves.
Play With Me, Unravel Me, and Fall With Me by Becka Mack
I love an interconnected sports romance series with found family vibes to get lost in and this one did not disappoint.
And then the rest:
Powerless, Reckless, and Fearless by Lauren Roberts
I read this YA romantasy triology in just a few days and really enjoyed it - a solid 3.5 stars. There’s trials, enemies to lover romance, and a kingdom in need of a revolution.
I’m still recovering from my Onyx Storm hangover so making my way through Rebecca Yarros’s contemporary romances and this one was 3.5 stars for me - this one’s a second chance romance that will make you cry a little on your way to a HEA.
Margo’s Got Money Troubles by Rufi Thorpe
This book follows a twenty year old new mum who starts an Only Fans to make enough money and I really love how the author played with point of view in this novel.
The Crimson Moth and Rebel Witch by Kirsten Ciccarelli
A romantasy duology - this one follows a witch and a witch hunter. The romance didn’t hook me quite like other romantasy’s have but it was still a fun two books to read.
Any Trope But You by Victoria Lavine
I thought I was really going to love this book as I’d seen quite a few people say it was really good but I just couldn’t get hooked - it was almost a DNF for me! But you may love it so I thought I’d still include it.
After reading a lot of hockey romance I thought I’d try F1 and honestly? This was another almost DNF for me. It wasn’t bad, it just didn’t have me hooked and I don’t think I’ll go back to read the rest of the series.
Sunrise On The Reaping by Suzanne Collins
Damn did this book make me cry. I loved reading Haymitch’s story but oh how it broke my heart a little.
Face Off, Power Play and Slap Shot by Chelsea Curto
Another hockey romance series, this one is defintiely a little on the cheesy side but I still enjoyed it and will continue to read the next ones!
I loved the other 3 books in the series that I shared above but the first one not as much - but it’s a good reminder to not always give up on a series!
I’ve never read an Elsie Silver book I didn’t enjoy - this wasn’t my absolute favourite but was still a fun read.
I love Emma Lord’s sweet YA books - this one follows academic rivals Sadie and Seb when they find themselves at the same college after high school.
And that’s all the books I read in the past two months! What’s your favourite book you’ve read recently? 📚
Until next time,
Jen
You have such great reading taste! I loved that BK Borison, Carley Fortune, Emily Henry, Elsie Silver, etc. So many good ones! I hope you get a chance to read Emily Henry's new one this month--it was SO good. Maybe my favorite yet!
I need to read Fearless! I've been reading the Blood and Steel books which are great (nothing will still ever top ACOTAR and TOG for me though)
